From 2018, the AfricaLics Research Capacity Building Project with funding from Sida will support a pilot project to provide post-doctoral visiting fellow training opportunities to recent PhD graduates in the field of innovation and development.
Three post-doctoral visiting fellowship positions will be available for researchers full-time employed at an African university based in a low or low-middle income country. It will provide visiting fellows with dedicated time away from home to work on a single research project defined by the fellows themselves, but related to the overall theme of the programme which is Developing Innovation Capabilities for Sustainable and Inclusive Industrialisation in Africa.
Funding for two research periods with additional training and mentorship support at Aalborg University in Denmark is available. In addition, two joint workshops with other postdoctoral fellows and mentors/collaborating partners on the programme will be organised and funded.
